Rickie Lambert set for So'ton return?

Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert is apparently inching closer to a loan move to former club Southampton in the winter transfer window.

The England international joined the Reds from the Saints over the summer, following an excellent spell with the South Coast club in the previous campaign.

However, the 32-year-old has failed to settle at his home-town club, and could seek for a temporary switch in the New Year.

According to The Express, Lambert could be allowed to rejoin the Saints on a six-month loan, should the Reds sign a new striker in January.

Lambert has yet to score a league goal for the Reds this season.
