Man Utd favourites to sign £19.5m star

Manchester United could get their hands on one of their long-term targets in the upcoming transfer window, according to a report.

Atletico Madrid defender Miranda is understood to be on the verge on an exit from the club in the New Year, with manager Diego Simeone favouring young defender Jose Gimenez ahead of him in the first-team.

Miranda has found it hard to retain his spot in the first-team following his return from injury, and The Star claims that the Brazilian defender will seek pastures elsewhere in the New Year.

The report adds that Miranda could be available to his suitors for £19.5m in January.
