Alvaro Arbeloa set for Liverpool return?

Liverpool are considering the prospect of re-signing defender Alvaro Albeloa in the summer transfer window.

The talented defender left the Reds for Real Madrid in the summer of 2009, and has since then played a vital role in the first-team.

However, his place has come under scrutiny in recent months, with a number of below-par performances and this could force him into a switch away from the Bernabeu.

The Metro claims that Brendan Rodgers' side are ready to make a £3.5m bid for their former defender this summer.

Italian giants Napoli managed by former Reds boss Rafael Benitez, are also monitoring the proceedings.
