Man Utd close to Dani Alves signing?

Manchester United are believed to be inching closer to signing up Dani Alves on a free transfer.

Alves' contract at Barcelona expires in the summer, but recent reports have claimed that the Catalan giants are ready to discuss a contract extension with the Brazilian international.

According to The Star, United are closing in on the player's signature having offered a much better contract than Barcelona.

It is also understood that Barca are unwilling to match Alves' demands for a new three-year contract.
