Chelsea interested in Alex Song

Chelsea are planning a surprise move for Barcelona midfielder Alex Song, according to a report.

The former Cameroon international has spend the season on loan at West Ham United, but is expected to return to Camp Nou, as the Hammers are unlikely to offload his weekly wage package of £80,000.

According to The Mail, the Blues will look to boost their home-grown quota by signing up the former Gunners during the summer transfer window.

It is understood that Song fits the bill as he joined his former club Arsenal  as a 17-year-old.

Barcelona will listen to offers of around £6m for the talented enforcer.
