Alex Song to complete West Ham switch

Barcelona midfielder Alex Song will seal a permanent transfer to West Ham United by this week.

The former Cameroon international was impressive during his loan spell with the Hammers last season, and this has led to the speculation that the East Londoners could seal a permanent deal for the former Arsenal star in the summer.

Hammers have been reluctant to match Barca's asking price of £7m for the talented enforcer, but The Mirror cites that both clubs have now reached a compromise that will see the 27-year-old make way to Upton Park on a permanent contract in the next few days.
