Nacho Monreal on Athletic Bilbao radar

Spanish side Athletic Bilbao are looking at the possibility of signing up Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal this summer.

Monreal was a regular for the Gunners in the second half of last season.

However, the Spain international has just one year left on his current deal, and is unwilling to sign a contract extension unless his wages are improved.

It is now widely reported that the North London giants could consider the player's sale with Basque club Athletic Bilbao keen on landing his signature.

A fee of around £8.5m is likely to tempt the Gunners to offload the talented left-back.
