Stefan Savic confirms Atletico Madrid switch

Fiorentina defender Stefan Savic has revealed that he has agreed to join Atletico Madrid in player-plus-cash deal which will see midfielder Mario Suarez move the other way.

The Montenegrin international has been constantly linked with a move to the Vicente Calderon over the past week, and it has now been confirmed that the 24-year-old will seal his transfer on Monday once he has a successful medical.

"[Diego] Simeone is the best coach in world football. I hope to speak with him soon and discover what is expected of me," he told reporters.

"I'm very happy to be joining a big club. Mario Suarez is also a very good player and will surely help Fiorentina to achieve great success."

Atleti are understood to have parted with £8m plus Suarez to sign up the former Manchester City defender.
