Arsenal are planning a stunning raid for Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Silva, according to reports.

The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is thought to be keen on signing a new holding midfielder before the transfer window closes.

According to Spanish outlet AS, the North London giants will make a move for the 22-year-old who has been tipped to exit the Bernabeu, with Real needing to get rid of one of their non-EU players before the transfer deadline.

La Liga allows a team to have a maximum of three non-EU players per season.
