Oriol Romeu close to Southampton transfer

Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu is reportedly closing in on a summer move to Southampton.

The 23-year-old joined the Premier League champions from Barcelona in 2011, and has since then struggled to cement his place in the first-team setup.

Romeu spent the past two seasons on loan at Valencia and Stuttgart respectively, and had been linked with a switch to Leicester City earlier this summer.

According to The Independent, the former Barca graduate will head to South Coast for a medical, after the Saints agreed a fee with the Blues.
