Lucas Leiva close to Besiktas loan

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is expected to complete a loan move to Turkish side Besiktas before the transfer window closes.

The Brazilian international was left out of the Reds' opening two league fixtures, giving a clear indication that he is no longer a part of Brendan Rodgers' plans at the club.

According to Liverpool Echo, the 28-year-old will head to Turkey with Besiktas on a season-long loan.

"A loan deal is likely. It could go ahead within the next two days," Besiktas director Erol Kaynar revealed.

Leiva made 20 league appearances for his club last term.
