Southampton offer new deal to Victor Wanyama
Southampton are understood to have offered a contract extension to Kenyan international Victor Wanyama.
The midfield enforcer was left of the Saint's 3-0 win over Norwich City as he was mentally and physically unwell to feature in the game.
Saints executive director Les Reeds has now confirmed that the club will look to secure the player's services on a long-term basis.
"We've already tried to start negotiations on that. We've offered him the opportunity for a long-term extension," he told Sky Sports News.
Wanyama was constantly linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur during the final days of the transfer window.
