Everton eye Saponara

Everton are reportedly keeping track on the performances of Empoli playmaker Riccardo Samponara.

The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for this club since his move from AC Milan earlier this year.

According to The Star, Toffees boss Roberto Martinez has sent scouts to keep tabs on the talented midfielder, who has notched eight league goals in 16 games for Empoli in his second coming.

It is added that the Merseyside could make a January swoop, should the player maintain his form for the first half of the campaign.

Samponara previously plyed his trade for Empoli between 2009 and 2013.
