Granit Xhaka on Barcelona radar?

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka is understood to be on Barcelona's transfer shortlist for New Year.

The 23-year-old has turned into a key player for Monchengladbach following a slow start to his career.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the European champions are keeping a close eye on the Swiss hotshot, and could decide to step their pursuit in the coming months.

It is added that Barca chief Ariedo Braida will travel to Turin to watch the midfielder in action against Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Xhaka joined the Bundesliga side from FC Basel in 2012.
