Everton's Phil Jagielka out for upto nine weeks
Everton captain Phil Jagielka is expected to spend at least nine weeks on the sidelines following a knee injury suffered during Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Arsenal.
The England international was forced off the pitch during the final quarter of the crunch encounter following a reckless tackle from Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Martinez has now cited that the experienced defender will be out for eight or nine weeks after he damaged a medial ligament.
The medial ligament is affected and it's an injury that is quite straightforward," he told the club's official website.
"At the moment we are going to make sure he gets the right course of treatment. I wouldn't expect anything longer than eight to nine weeks."
The Toffees host Sunderland in their next Premier League encounter on Sunday.
