Jurgen Klopp asks for Cristian Tello

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly requested the club's hierarchy to engineer a deal for Barcelona forward Cristian Tello.

The 24-year-old is in the second year of his two-year loan deal at Primeira Liga giants FC Porto.

Tello has recently insisted that he will not return to Camp Nou once his loan spell expires at the Dragons.

Spanish source Fichajes now understands that Reds manager Klopp has asked the club's transfer committee to try and seal a deal for the talented forward.

It is added that the Merseysiders could acquire the player's services as early as January, should they meet Barca's asking price of £11m.

The former La Masia graduate is thought to be frustrated at Porto following his omission from the big games.
