James Collins inks new West Ham deal

James Collins has signed a new deal to keep him at West Ham United until the summer of 2018.

It had been recently speculated that the experienced defender could seek a fresh challenge in the New Year, with his existing deal due to expire at the end of the season.

However, the 32-year-old has brought an end to the speculation by signing a two-year contract extension.

"To be signing for another two years, I can't explain how happy I am to be part of a club that is moving forward and getting bigger and bigger, so to be part of that is unbelievable," he told the club's official website.

Collins has made 160 appearances for the East London side till date.
