Leicester City to double Vardy wages

Leicester City are set to offer a new bumper deal to star striker Jamie Vardy, according to reports.

The England international has been in sublime form for the Premier League toppers this season, scoring 15 goals in all competitions.

The Mirror says the Foxes are willing to double Vardy's wages of £40,000-a-week in a desperate attempt to keep hold of the player for the season.

It is also known that the 28-year-old could accept the new contract as it ensures the Foxes earn a substantial transfer fee through his sale in the future.

Leicester City face-off against Liverpool in the Premier League on Boxing Day.
