Chelsea to rival Man City for Isco

Chelsea look set to rival Manchester City in the race to sign wantaway Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

The Blues are expected to spend a reasonable sum this month as they seek to bring a change to their fortunes.

Recent reports had suggested that the Citizens were in talks with Los Blancos' officials over a potential deal for the Spain international.

However, according to London Evening Standard, the Premier League holders may have a say in the player's pursuit with manager Guus Hiddink keen on signing up a new midfielder in the transfer window.

Isco has barely featured for Real since his red card in the 4-0 Clasico thrashing against Barcelona in November.
