Jamie Vardy signs new Leicester deal

England international Jamie Vardy has inked a new contract to keep him at Leicester City until the summer of 2019.

The 29-year-old has been one of the stand out performers for the Foxes, who are currently heading the Premier League standings.

Claudio Ranieri's side were said to be holding discussions with the player, and it is now revealed that the fans' favourites has committed his long-term future to the club.

"I'm absolutely delighted to be fighting to achieve something special with this club, as part of this squad. I've never known a spirit like it - from the owners, to the manager and his staff, the players and the fans. I want to be part of it for a long time," Vardy told the club's official website.

The talented marksman has netted 18 goals for the league toppers this season.
