Man Utd in for Lassana Diarra

Manchester United are thought to be readying a surprise move for former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Lassana Diarra.

The France international currently plys his trade for Marseille, who are having a below-par season in Ligue 1.

French source L'Equipe understands that United are eager to add more steel to their midfield during the summer transfer window.

It is added that the Mancunian giants are considering a bid for Diarra, who has previous Premier League experience with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Portsmouth.

The 30-year-old has netted a solitary goal in 22 appearances for Marseille this season.
