Payet inks West Ham extension

French midfielder Dimitri Payet has signed a new long-term deal at West Ham United.

The 28-year-old was believed to be in advanced negotiations over a new bumper contract following his impressive showing during the first half of the campaign.

It is now revealed that the talented attacker has penned a new five-year contract on wages worth £125,000-a-week.

Slaven Bilic's side are said to have agreed to the record deal in a bid to prevent the player from joining the big spenders in the Chinese Super League.

Payet has notched six goals for the Hammers following his move from Marseille last summer.
