Jurgen Klopp asks for Gotze
Liverpool manager has reportedly requested the club's hierarchy to prepare a bid for Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze. The German international has had a frustrating time at the Bavarian giants this season, and this has led to suggestions that he may seek a fresh challenge at the end of the campaign.
Gotze is understood to have had a good relationship with manager Jurgen Klopp before he left Borussia Dortmund for Bayern Munich in 2013.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Reds boss Klopp is eager to link up with the World Cup winner this summer as he seeks to bolster the midfield setup ahead of the next campaign.
It is added that Merseysiders would have to pay a fee of around £32m to have any chance of signing the 23-year-old.
Gotze scored the one and only goal for Germany as they went on to beat Argentina and lift the World Cup in Brazil two years ago.
