Barcelona readying £50m Payet bid

Barcelona are said to be lining up a mega-offer for West Ham United playmaker Dimitri Payet. The France international has been in exemplary form for the Hammers since his move from Marseille last summer.

Payet has gone from strength to strength in his time at Boleyn Ground, and this has earned him plaudits from the club's faithful.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans are ready to test Hammers' resolve by launching a massive £50m bid for the French attacker.

It is added that any deal for the 29-year-old would cast doubts on the future of Neymar, who has been linked with a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona are currently in a wretched run of form and find themselves clinging on to their lead in La Liga.
