Juventus close in on Janmaat

Serie A holders Juventus are in advanced negotiations with Newcastle United to sign Netherlands full-back Daryl Janmaat. The 26-year-old is likely to leave the Magpies following their relegation to the Championship.

Newcastle United lost out on their battle to beat the drop in midweek as arch-rivals Sunderland beat Everton and secured their Premier League status for yet another season.

Italian publication Calciomercato says the Old Lady could be close to wrapping up a deal for the right-back after they held talks with the player's entourage over the week.

Napoli and Inter Milan have also expressed interest in the former Feyenoord man, who has earned 25 caps with The Flying Dutchmen.
