Michael Carrick resigned to leaving Man Utd
England international Michael Carrick is set to leave Manchester United in the summer after he failed to get assurances over his future.
Carrick, 34, has yet to pen a new deal at Old Trafford with his current contract due to expire at the end of next month.
The Mirror says the veteran midfielder is ready to call quits on his United career after the club's hierarchy showed no desire in holding negotiations with his representative.
It is added that the arrival of Jose Mourinho to Old Trafford is unlikely to help his situation with the former Chelsea boss eager to bring in fresh recruits ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
With the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Stoke City interested, Carrick would have plenty of offers to choose from if he is to consider a stay in the top flight.
