Arsenal express interest in Barcelona target

Arsenal are apparently showing interest in Villareal defender Matteo Musacchio. The 25-year-old played a key role for the Yellow Submarines as they earned themselves Champions League football for next season.

The Gunners remain in the hunt for a new defender to partner Laurent Koscielny in the central defence.

According to Fichajes, the North London giants have joined the race for Musacchio, a player who has excelled in his stay at El Madrigal.

Marcelino's side would be open to the sale of their star asset, should the right offer come in over the summer.

Barcelona and AS Roma are also on the hunt to secure the player's signature.

Musacchio has made over 200 appearances for his side since his debut in 2010.
