Arsenal interested in Islam Slimani
Arsenal have turned their focus towards Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani after missing out on Jamie Vardy. The Gunners are on the look out for a new frontman this summer.
According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, the North London outfit could step up their pursuit for Algerian international Slimani following Vardy's decision to pen four-year extension at Leicester City.
Slimani has been in the form of his life over the past year, and this has sounded interest from several English clubs.
The 28-year-old netted 27 goals for the Lisbon-based outfit as they came runners-up to Benfica for the Primeira Liga title.
Sporting value their player at around £18m, which is well within the Gunners' budget for the summer.
