Watford to sign Younes Kaboul
Watford are close to announcing the signing of Younes Kaboul after they reached an agreement with Sunderland. The 30-year-old was permitted to leave the Black Cats after he held discussions with coach David Moyes.
The centre-back joined the Wearside outfit from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, and played a key role in their quest to beat the Premier League drop.
However, the desire to return to the London area was always on his mind, and this has urged the Black Cats to accept a £3.5m fee from the Hornets for his services.
"This is not an easy situation for me, but the club and the manager have shown an understanding of my personal circumstances and I am grateful for that," he told Sunderland's official website.
Kaboul will undergo a series of medical tests this week before finalizing a three-year contract at Vicarage Road.
