Bendtner on brink of QPR transfer

Championship side Queens Park Rangers are nearing an agreement to sign former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner. The Dane is currently a free agent after he mutually cut ties with German side Wolfsburg in April.

According to ESPN, the Hoops are in advanced negotiations with the player's representatives as they seek to strengthen their attack front before the transfer deadline.

Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is said to be a huge admirer of Bendtner's talents, and feels the 28-year-old has the ingredients to guide his side to Premier League promotion this season.

Bendtner spent 10 years at former club Arsenal- netting 24 goals in 100 outings, before he joined Wolfsburg in the summer of 2014. He struggled to cement a regular role with Dieter Hecking's side and was eventually forced to terminate his contract during the backend of the previous campaign.

Queens Park Rangers are currently sixth in the league standings having registered two wins in their opening four matches.
