Chelsea in talks to sign Bundesliga Star

Premier League leaders Chelsea are reportedly in negotiations over a winter move for Bayer Leverkusen attacker Hakan Calhanoglu. The Turkey international remains a key performer for the Bundesliga outfit despite their average season this term.

According to Turkish Football, the Blues are said to be in talks over a £16m move for the German-born footballer, but the deal is likely to be put on hold until the end of the season.

Calhanoglu has previously iterated his intention of joining one of Manchester United or Barcelona, and he will most probably wait for the summer unless Bayer are keen on his sale.

The 22-year-old has made a name for himself in Germany due to free-kick taking abilities, whilst his style of play is often likened to Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.

Calhanoglu came up with his best performance of the campaign last weekend as he netted a brace in his side's 3-0 win over Hertha Berlin.
