Tottenham made Riyad Mahrez enquiry
Tottenham Hotspur had reportedly made an approach for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez in the January transfer window.
The Algerian international had an excellent 2015-16 season with the Foxes as he guided them to their first league triumph whilst also claiming the PFA Player of the Year award.
Mahrez had therein attracted interest from Arsenal in the summer, but he snubbed their offer in order to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium on a fresh four-year contract.
Since then, the attacker has managed just three league goals compared to his 17 last season, and this has in hand affected the Foxes' form drastically as they head closer to the drop zone.
According to The Times, Spurs had enquired over the possibility of signing Mahrez at the turn of the year, but the league holders insisted that the player was not for sale at any price.
Leicester City are currently just a single point above the bottom three, and this will have to get Mahrez up to his best form if they to save themselves from the relegation embarrassment.
