Sunderland sign Andy Reid

Sunderland have completed the signing of Irish international midfielder Andy Reid from Charlton for a fee that is believed to be around £3.5 million.

Sunderland boss Roy Keane was delighted to bring in the former Tottenham and Nottingham Forest star.

"Andy brings added quality to our side in an area that I feel needed to be strengthened," said Keane.

"It's always healthy to have competition for places in the squad. I'm sure he'll do well for the club."
