Liverpool near agreement with Brazilian striker
Liverpool are reportedly closing on the services of Brazilian striker Luan ahead of this summer's transfer window.
The 24-year-old has been on the Reds radar over the past month or so with his agent having met up with Anfield executives in London.
According to The Mirror, a deal has been struck with Gremio for the player's signature after he snubbed a fresh contract extension to remain in Brazil.
Luan, dubbed the next Ronaldinho, has been influenced by the presence of fellow compatriots Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Lucas Leiva in order to switch his allegiance to Liverpool this summer.
The marksman was part of the Brazilian team that won the Olympic gold in the summer of 2016 after they beat Germany in the finals via a penalty shoot-out.
He has since earned his maiden cap with the senior side in an international friendly against Colombia earlier this year where he came on as a second-half substitute.
A fee of around £26m has been quoted for the agreement to go through in the transfer window which reopens in July.
