Despite Paul Clement indicating interest to retain the services of the Frenchman, Gomis is not keen on a Swansea return and wants to stay in Marseille.

Bafétimbi Gomis has become somewhat of a forgotten man in Swansea, though not in the French league. He has been performing extremely well in Ligue 1 since his loan move to Marseille in the summer. The striker scored a massive 20 goals, making him the fourth highest goalscorer in the league.

Back in 2016, the then Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin decided to loan out the forward on the back of two poor seasons, scoring only 13 goals in the Premier League. However, since then, Gomis has gotten back his scoring touch at Marseille and hit the 20 goals mark for the first time in over three years.

Current Swansea manager Paul Clement has spoken out about Gomis(via The Mail), saying, "Bafe is the one (loan) player I have not spoken to,"

"The last thing I saw, he was keen to stay where he was, but now we are staying in the Premier League it could be an attractive proposition for him to come and play back here."

However, Gomis would rather stay in the Ligue 1 instead of going back to Swansea. Keeping in mind his age and contract situation, The Swans will likely allow him to leave as they look for €4m for the 31-year-old, who has one year left on his contract.
