Chris Smalling heading for Old Trafford exit door?
Manchester United could reportedly listen to offers for England international Chris Smalling once Victor Lindelof completes the necessary formalities to join the club.
The Red Devils have already announced an agreement to sign the Sweden international, and it is left for the player to undergo a medical before sealing his £31m move from Benfica.
According to The Star, the arrival of Lindelof could trigger the exit of Smalling, whose relationship with Jose Mourinho deterred over the course of last season.
Mourinho was not particularly happy with Smalling' reluctance to play through pain, and he is unlikely to entertain a similar occurrence during the upcoming season as he plans to compete in both the domestic and European competitions.
Lindelof put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with Benfica earlier in March, and this helped Benfica demand a larger package than what United were willing to offer last winter.
The deal doubled his release clause which was at £26m thus providing the Primeira Liga holders with the chance to add a couple of add-ons to his proposed deal.
