Besiktas deny Anderson Talisca deal with Manchester United

Anderson Talisca news

Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Talisca

Metin Albayrak, a member of Besiktas' player monitoring committee, has reportedly claimed that Manchester United target Anderson Talisca will be playing for the Turkish club for another season.

The 23-year-old was on loan at Besiktas from Portuguese club Benfica, scoring 17 goals and registering six assists in an impressive season which culminated with Besiktas winning the Turkish Super Lig for the second successive year.

His form had caught the attention of many clubs across Europe, most notably Manchester United. Talisca even admitted United's interest in him, saying in an interview: "Mourinho wants me, he has wanted me for a long time and I am an admirer of his work." Reports later claimed United had already agreed to personal terms with the winger and a fee of £22 million was agreed on between the two clubs.

However, a member of Besiktas' player monitoring committee, Metin Albayrak, have come on record to deny this claim.

In an interview with Turkish-Football, he was quoted saying: "Every player dreams of playing in the Premier League or La Liga but Talisca has another year with us. We have to be informed of any transfers, it cannot go ahead without us at the table, we have not been informed of a Manchester United deal."

From his interview, there seems to be some sort of agreement between Besiktas and Benfica regarding Talisca. There might be a clause that gives Besiktas the priority to buy the player first or take him on loan for another season.

Besiktas themselves might be unwilling to let another one of their players go to Manchester United following the transfer of defender Victor Lindelof
