Watford hoping to land Championship star
Watford are hoping to complete the signing of highly rated midfielder Will Hughes in the coming days from Championship side Derby County. The deal could reach a fee of £10 million.
Fans of the Championship will be forgiven for thinking that Hughes is older than 22-years-old as he seems to have been around for a long time, but that is due to the fact that he was given his Derby County debut at the age of sixteen.
The likes of Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked with the midfielder over the last few seasons, but new Watford manager Marco Silva looks to be the man that will give him his Premier League chance.
Hughes is currently away with the England under-21 squad, but The Telegraph reports that a deal could be completed in the next few days, with Derby hoping for an initial fee of £8 million and the potential for a further £2 million from add ons.
Although the youngster could have proved to be a crucial player for The Rams this season, manager Gary Rowett is willing to accept the transfer in order to raise funds for summer signings.
