Egypt vs Cameroon Egypt secured a record sixth title in the final of the African Cup of Nations on Sunday in Ghana. Egypt finished what has been a wonderful festival of football to retain the title, thanks to Mohamed Aboutrika's 77th minute goal against Cameroon.

Egypt created the majority of the chances but were thwarted by some fine stops from Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni.

Cameroon defender Geremi forced a save from Essam Al-Hadari from a free-kick, but the Pharaohs almost took the lead seconds later.

Hadari's clearance found Emad Moteab, whose 15-yard shot was parried brilliantly by Kameni, but into the path of Aboutrika, whose shot was too high.

Shortly after the break, Kameni made a flying save to deny Egypt midfielder Hosni Abd Rabou, who was named the player of the tournament, diving to palm away a powerful drive.

Cameroon sought to catch Egypt on the counter-attack but rarely found top scorer Samuel Eto'o, whose best effort came 10 minutes before halftime when a burst of pace saw him shrug of his marker but he then shot across the face of goal.

It was a crucial error from captain Rigobert Song that led to Aboutreika's goal.

The Cameroon captain had two chances to clear the ball but instead got tangled in a needless duel with Zidan and lost the ball. Zidan squared it perfectly and Aboutreika finished powerfully in the bottom right corner.

After conceding the goal, Cameroon pushed forward and twice forced Egypt goalkeeper Essam Al Hadari to parry away the ball.

Kameni burst into tears at the final whistle and had to be comforted by Eto'o. Egypt's players rolled on the floor and hugged in celebration. A great end to a fantastic tournament, thanks for following it with eyefootball.
