Arsenal goalkeeper fires warning to Manchester clubs
Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech is relishing the prospect of playing the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United following the Gunners' recent upturn in form.
The Gunners registered a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon, and this saw them go seven games unbeaten across all competitions since the 4-0 humbling at Liverpool.
During that period, Cech kept four clean sheets in the Premier League which included a strong performance in the 0-0 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
In a report covered by The Express, Cech admits that the Gunners are still in the Premier League hunt with games against City and United left to play.
He said: "We still have to play City and United, so there will be opportunities to get closer to them. But we have responded well to the disappointing defeat at Liverpool.
"Everybody has been doing their job and the positive results have given us the confidence we need. We are playing better as a team.
"We're covering for our mistakes with hard work and the cohesion and the defensive attitude is there. This is the way to go forward."
The Gunners accumulated 10 points in the month of September, and this has seen them leap to fifth place on the table - only behind Chelsea on goal difference.
Arsenal will face off against Manchester City on November 5 before tackling Manchester United nearly a month later on December 2.
