Bordeaux stunned Monaco in Ligue 1 on Sunday when an incredible second half performance saw the Blues grab six goals and defeat Monaco 6-0 to move within one point of league leaders Lyon.

The floodgates opened six minutes after the break when Cavenaghi latched onto Wendel's cross and fired home a low shot to finish off a beautiful team move.

And Wendel was heavily involved in the next goal on 60 minutes as Alou Diarra flicked on his free-kick towards Micoud, whose thunderbolt from a tight angle completely fooled Monaco keeper Flavio Roma.

Cavenaghi put the result beyond doubt four minutes later.

David Bellion deflected the ball towards the Argentinian who beat the offside trap to fire home from just inside the area.

Any glimmer of hope Monaco still had of getting something from the game was extinguished seconds later as Perez was given his marching orders for a foul on Bellion.

The principality side managed to keep the rampant Bordeaux attack at bay for a spell but it was only a matter of time before the visitors added to the scoreline.

Substitute Marouane Chamakh scored the fourth on 81 minutes, nine minutes after coming off the bench, as he tapped home Micoud's free-kick.

It was role reversal six minutes later as Chamakh raced down the left flank before crossing into a packed area where Micoud threw himself at the ball and poked it in.

Monaco was desperately awaiting the full-time whistle, but there was still more to come.

In injury-time Gabriel Obertan, who had only been on the pitch eight minutes, was picked out in the area by Pierre Ducasse and the 18-year-old fired into the roof of the net to cap a great night for his side.
