Riyad Mahrez linked with Marseille move

Algeria international Riyad Mahrez has emerged as a potential target for Marseille ahead of the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old had revealed his ambition to leave Leicester City earlier in the summer, but there were not any suitors willing to match the Foxes' valuation.

Mahrez was the subject of multiple bids from AS Roma during the summer, but their final offer worth £30m fell short of the Foxes' £40m asking price.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the attacker could yet leave the King Power Stadium with Marseille keen on pursuing his services in the New Year.

Marseille turned down the chance to sign Mahrez prior to his Foxes move back in 2014, but they appear to have renewed their interest in the hope of sealing a cut-price £26.5m deal for his signature.

Mahrez has recently shown signs of his old form with two goals and two assists in the month of October. He is currently contracted to Leicester City until the summer of 2020.
