Samuel Umtiti confirms Manchester United interest
Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has confirmed that Manchester United are among the clubs in the running to secure his signature at the end of the season.
The France international has yet to sort out an improved deal with the Catalan giants, and this has supposedly caught the eye of United owing to his £52m release clause.
Speaking on French outlet Canal+, Umtiti confirmed that United are one of the sides vying for his services, but he is, for now, concerned with his progress on the playing field.
He said: "It's not only Manchester United, other clubs want me as well, but my sole focus is on Barcelona. Negotiations for a contract renewal have not started yet. My release clause is low, but that's not what I worry about, I'm focused on the pitch."
Barcelona have reportedly refused to treble his current wages which stand at around £50,000-a-week, and United are aiming to take advantage of this situation in order to lure him to Old Trafford.
Mourinho has already held a private phone chat with Umtiti in order to agree to his contractual demands, but the Frenchman is still keen to have future sorted out with the Blaugrana prior to the summer.
