Kaka signs new Milan deal
Brazilian superstar Kaka has signed a new contract with AC Milan that is likely to keep him at the club until 2013. The 25-year-old midfielder is considered by many to be the best in the world, and news of this new contract will give Milan a welcome boost ahead of a crucial Champions League clash with Arsenal next week.
Real Madrid had been linked with a £35 million move for Kaka in recent weeks, but this new contract signifies Kaka's intent to stay at Milan for the future.
Many predict Kaka will be the captain after Paolo Maldini retires and Kaka has previously said he has no interest in leaving Milan.
The message on Milan's website read: "AC Milan announces that it has extended the contract that binds Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite Kakà to the società rossonera until 30 June 2013."
