Paris Saint-Germain are close to completing the signing of Juventus and Italy legend, Gianluigi Buffon, Mirror Football reports.

According to reports, the goalkeeper will sign a two-year deal after completing a medical on Friday. The deal will be concluded this weekend.

With Buffon set to be unveiled on Monday, the 2006 World Cup winner will be leaving Turin after spending 17 years between the sticks for the Old Lady.

Buffon signed for Juventus in the summer of 2001 for a fee reported to be €52million.

Even at 40, Gigi Buffon is still one of the best goalkeepers in the world and can help PSG make a push for the UEFA Champions League they are so desperate to win.

Buffon himself has never won Europe's elite club competition having lost on penalties to AC Milan in 2003 and by four goals to one to Real Madrid in 2017.

This move would most likely see PSG academy graduate and first choice goalkeeper Alphonse Areola dropped from the starting line-up.
