Shaw to return for Young Boys trip

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Luke Shaw will make his first-team comeback during Wednesday's Champions League opener against Young Boys.

The England international sustained a head injury during the Nations League game against Spain earlier in the week and this meant that he was excluded from the Watford clash as a pre-caution.

However, Mourinho has now confirmed that Shaw will feature against Swiss champions Young Boys when they kickstart their European campaign on the road in midweek.

"Luke Shaw plays Wednesday," he is quoted by Sky Sports following the game. "We can't do it with one left-back and Ashley Young is not just a left-back, he is also a right-back."

Shaw found himself behind Young in the pecking order for the left-back role last term but he has managed to put in a strong shift since pre-season to become the regular in the position.

During the previous campaign, Mourinho decided to rest skipper Antonio Valencia for a couple of away games in Europe and this could be the case on Wednesday with Young possibly featuring at right-back.
