Liverpool, Chelsea boosted as Serie A giants reject €35m bid for target
Genoa have turned down a €35million bid for a Liverpool and Chelsea target, according to the latest reports.
Poland hitman Piatek has been subjected to interest from clubs all around Europe, with Spurs joining the aforementioned Premier League duo in being linked with his €35m signature, while Barcelona have also been credited with an interest too.
The striker has enjoyed a sensational rise to the top since signing for Genoa, where the forward has scored 14 goals so far this season.
Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have all also been linked with the 24-year-old, however Genoa remain firm in their stance.
According to Italian outlet Rai Sport, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis presented a €35m offer to Genoa counterpart Enrico Preziosi.
Despite Napoli’s proposal also including allowing Genoa keep the Pole until June, they are holding out for over €50m and the bid was therefore rejected.
OPINION: Piatek has shot to prominence with his performances this season and is on the list of many clubs from Europe. Genoa know this is their chance to cash in on the striker and receive a huge coup. Any dip in form will substantially affect the price evaluation. So, the n=best option for Genoa is to part ways with the Pole and receive a lucrative money deal.
