Arsenal planning £10m move for Spanish defender
Arsenal are reportedly among the top European clubs, who are considering a winter approach to sign Fernando Calero from Real Valladolid.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for Valladolid, who have conceded just 15 goals from as many league games this term and this has seemingly caught the eye of top sides including Borussia Dortmund.
According to Cadena SER, the Gunners are weighing up a possible move for the Spaniard ahead of the New Year after knowing of the relatively affordable £10m release clause on his contract.
Nevertheless, the deal does not appear straightforward with Valladolid reluctant to sell their prized asset next month unless the Gunners are prepared to pay a figure more than his current escape clause.
Calero only made his professional debut for Valladolid a year ago and reports indicate that he would be prepared to stay put for the rest of the season, should a transfer agreement fail to be finalised at the start of 2019.
