Chelsea boss reacts after 2-2 draw versus Vidi
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has admitted that he is pleased with the character and reaction from his side during the 2-2 Europa League draw against Vidi on the road.
The Blues had come into the game with the perfect record of five wins from as many group stage matches but they could not sustain the flawless record after tackling a Vidi side, who put up a spirited performance.
Speaking after the game, Sarri said that he was pleased with the comeback from his team after going 2-1 down, although there were plenty of mistakes in the tactical point of view.
"We made a lot of mistakes from the tactical point of view. I am happy with the character and reaction from the second goal. From the tactical point of view we made a lot of mistakes. We lost a lot of ball, can manage it better at the end." he said via Football.London.
Meanwhile, Sarri continued to defend the own goal conceded by Ethan Ampadu during the first half of the game and admitted that he was impressed with the showing of both the Welshman and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Chelsea will now shift their focus to the Premier League for the weekend where they are scheduled to face Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
