Everton could face stiff competition for the services of Abdoulaye Doucoure this winter with Paris Saint-Germain deemed to have joined the race for the Watford midfielder.

The 25-year-old has been one of Watford's leading performers for the past season-and-a-half and this form has regularly linked him with a move away from Vicarage Road.

According to The Mail, the Toffees are unlikely to have an easy route to the former Rennes man with Les Parisiens said to be monitoring the midfielder ahead of a possible £30m move next month.

Doucoure struggled to make much of an impression during his debut 2016/17 campaign with the Hornets but he has since found his feet with nine goals and eight assists in the top-flight alone.

Still, the Hornets are under no pressure to sell the Frenchman in the near future, considering he had only signed a new five-year contract with the club during the summer amid similar interest.
